Did you know you don’t have to have an Audible subscription to download Amazon audio books and use the Audible app?

We’re a well traveled family. Vacations and business trips put a lot of miles on our vehicles. They put a lot of miles on our kids, too. With the exception of our oldest son when he was a baby(that’s another story for another time), our kids have always traveled well.
As toddlers, just looking out the window and watching the world pass by occupied them. (And sleeping). Now that they’re older, and not taking naps, they need a little something to keep them occupied. Thankfully we live in a world with Amazon and Audible.
My husband don’t care too much for Amazon audio books, but when I turn one on the car gets quiet. Especially for Hank the Cowdog. Now I know some of you wouldn’t call Hank the Cowdog quality literature, but we happen to love listening to his adventures. We have our very own Hank the Cowdog here at the ranch.
Anyway, there are 2 ways you can do it.
#1. Join Audible for a Free Month and gain one free subscription on the app.
If you’re an amazon prime member (if not, become one) find the audio you want on Amazon. You see that orange button that says Try Audible Free. Click it
And then confirm your free trial. Notice it says “after 30 days Audible is $14.95 a month”. If you don’t want the subscription cancel before the trial is up. I cancelled as soon as I got my free audio book. However, there are some great benefits to being a member of Audible.
#2. If you don’t want to join Audible and mess with cancelling your membership
Click “buy with 1 click. Download the app and login using your Amazon sign in and your good to go.
After you download the app it dont’t give the Audible choice but gives the kindle format and an option to add audio for a little extra and that is the route you would go then
We’ve listened to tons of audio books via the Audible app and if you’ve read my blog you know how big I am on read alouds. Audio books count as read alouds, too. Sarah Mckenzie has an awesome list of audio deals on her website.
Here are some of my favorites…
I bought all of these books for less than $7.00. They go on sale all the time.
Anne of Green Gables series
A Child’s History of the World
