The power of a praying wife is immense and it’s a power we don’t use often enough. Prayer has the ability to change hearts and transform lives. Our husbands need our prayers, Ladies. In our over-sexualized, stressful culture they are bombarded with temptations and stresses everyday and he needs your help to overcome them. Here is how to pray for your husband for  31 days.

We’re taught to pray without ceasing and to not be anxious in anything, but to go to the Lord in prayer and let our requests be known to God. 

I’ve put together 1 month of prayers for our husbands and I challenge you to pray intensively for him everyday and see how God will not only transform his life, but your life, and your marriage.

Pray for Your Husband for 31 Days

  1. Pray for him to put God above all things in his life. Above his work, his family, and even you. Pray for him to be able to correctly prioritize his life.  Deuteronomy 6:5 ” Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”
  2. For him to put aside all idols. Some popular idols of modern day are work, money, time, family. We all struggle with these things. We have to be diligent to not succumb to them. Pray for him to recognize them in his life.  Exodus 20: 3 ” You shall have no other gods before me.”
  3. To bless the work of his hands. We want our husbands work to be blessed and for him to be able to provide for our family. Pray for him to prosper, but to also enjoy his work. Psalm 1:3 “He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”
  4. His protection in all things. Pray for his protection from accidents, disease, illness, and evil. Psalm 32:7 ” You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.”
  5. For godly friendships that will be a good influence and that he will also be a godly influence. Pray for friends and coworkers to be put in his life to draw him closer to God.  Proverbs 27:17 ” As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
  6. To keep his eyes and heart pure. Pray for his eyes to not be drawn to anything that draws him away from God or you. Pray for his heart to be pure and contain no poison. Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart, o God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
  7. Follow God’s commands. Pray for him to be obedient to God. Proverbs 3:1 ” My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,”
  8. Show our children God’s love. Pray for him to be a godly father and to show our children the love of God not only by his words, but also by his actions. John 13:35 “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
  9. Be bold in speaking up for Christ. Pray that your husband would not be meek when it comes to speaking up for Christ and telling others of Christ.  Matthew 28:19-20 ” Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…”
  10. Have humility. Pray for him to be humble in all things. James 4:6 “… God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
  11. Quick to listen. Pray that he would be quick to listen and slow to speak. James 1:19 “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;”
  12. To be quick to forgive. Pray that he would be quick to forgive those that have hurt him and to not harbor a grudge. Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
  13. Ask for forgiveness where he needs to. Pray for him to be humble enough to ask forgiveness where forgiveness is needed. James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
  14. To be a godly leader. Pray for your husband to be a godly leader at work, in church, in your family, and anywhere else in life you may be. 1 Peter 5:1-4 “So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.”
  15. His physical health. Pray not only for him to be healthy, but for him to glorify God with his body and take care of it. 1 Corinthians 6:20 “For you were bought with a price.   16. His emotional health. That he would never be controlled by anger, depression, rage, sadness, anxiety, jealousy,fear… Psalm 23:3 “He restores my soul, he guides me in the path of righteousness for His name’s sake.”
  17. Resist sinful temptations. Pray for him to resist the temptations that are thrown in his face all day long at work, on media, with friends, and any other time. 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
  18. To manage money wisely and give back to God. Pray for him to manage his money wisely and to be generous in giving to others. Don’t forget to pray for him to be generous in his tithes, also. Ecclesiastes 5:19 “Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work- this is a gift from God.”
  19. He will be drawn more closely to Jesus. Pray for his relationship with Jesus to grow more strong day by day. John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
  20. For him to completely trust in Jesus. Pray for him to learn to completely trust in Jesus and to trust in him in all he does. John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
  21. Stand strong in his faith. Pray for him to not waver in his faith when he is faced with worldly view from our culture or those around him. 1 Corinthians 16:13 “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.”
  22. The trials that he is going through. Pray for any trials he may be going through now or in the future. Pray for him to not have to go through some of the trials that he may possibly face. Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares upon the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.”
  23. To make godly choices. Pray for him to make wise, godly choices day in and day out. Pray for him to fear the Lord and shun evil. Proverbs 3:7 “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.”
  24. For him to have an integrity according to God’s standards. Pray for him to do what is right when no one is looking. Pray for him to be a man of truth at all times. Proverbs 28:6 “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.”
  25. That he have an untarnished reputation. Pray that he will behave in a way that gives no one to say an ill word about him. Proverbs 22:1 “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.”
  26. To find his calling. Pray for your husband to find God’s calling for him and to be brave enough to follow it. Pray for God to help you to support it whatever it may be. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
  27. That he would be affectionate to you and your kids. Pray for your husband to show his love to you and your kids. Pray that he not be hard hearted and that any lack of affection will be replaced in his heart. Ephesians 5:28-29 “In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.”
  28. For him to have a strong, active prayer life. Pray for your husband to give time to God each day to praise God and pray for others. Pray that he see the transforming power of prayer.  1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing,”
  29. His passions. Pray the things God has created him to love to be something that glorifies God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
  30. His fidelity. Pray for him to be faithful to you. In a culture that is all about self satisfaction, pray for him to have a faithful heart. Hebrews 13:4 “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. Read 5 Ways to Fiercely Protect Your Marriage
  31. Your sex life. Pray for your sex life to be vibrant and not to get dull with time. Pray for you both to want to be pleasing to the other. 1 Corinthians 7:4 “The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.”
